Gypsum is a historical mineral composed of calcium sulfate dihydrate, CaSO₄·2H₂O. Being an excellent source of calcium and sulfur, it has soil-conditioning properties and functions exactly like lime in aiding macronutrient elements required by the plant for healthy development. Gypsum does not bring about any change in the pH level but loosens the soil, thus allowing more access to the penetration of roots. It is very beneficial in saline and sodic soils where higher levels of sodium are inhibiting growth of plants. Gypsum expands the compacted clay soils and hence, allows proper aeration of the soil. It thus ensures that the water penetrates the soil appropriately. This way, the nutrient uptake increases while the root system remains healthy.

📌 Mode of Action:
• Improves Soil Structure – These reduce compaction and improve perviousness for better root penetration.
• Provides Nutrients – Essential, Calcium and sulfur to the plants and enzymes to work.
• Saline Soil – Helps Displace Excess Sodium, increasing the fertility of soil and production
• Improves Infiltration – Prevents Waterlogging of the soil by increasing ventilation
• Prevent Nutrient Leaching – Important nutrients are conserved, therefore enhancing the intake by the plant.
📌 Benefits:
• It improves ventilation in soil and increases its water retention capability
• It is an excellent source of calcium and sulfur for growth of plants.
• Breaking of compacted clay and sodic soils.
• Improves root growth and minimizes nutrient leaching.
• Soil-borne disease resistance increased, hence increase yield.
📌 Target Crops:
• Cereals & Pulses: Wheat, Rice, Maize, Barley, Chickpeas, Lentils
• Vegetables: Tomato, Potato, Onion, Carrot, Cauliflower, Cabbage
